The ISL has signed a rights deal with beIN SPORTS for the 2020 International Swimming League Season 2 Battle in the Budapest Bubble to be broadcast across France, Turkey, 24 countries in the Middle East & North Africa, and 10 countries in Asia Pacific.
The broadcast media rights agreement covers the upcoming ISL 2020 regular season and semi-finals in Budapest, Hungary, during a condensed 5-week schedule from October 16, 2020. The season has been cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic but will include a Solidarity Camp, during which swimmers will train and live in a bubble in Budapest.
The International Swimming League Season 2 will unfold without some of the biggest names, mainly from Australia, as a result of COVID-19 restrictions and health concerns this year but team rosters indicate a high level of world-class competition ahead.
The condensed 5-week schedulein Budapest, which will be the only major competition to feature the world’s best swimmers this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, is a part of there lifeline thrown to the sport by the ISL and its founder and funder, Konstantin Grigorishin. Each month between September 2020 and June 2021, the 320 or so swimmers of the League will receive a $1,500 monthly salary.
